This application is built upon extensive historical and manufacturing data covering virtually every piano brand and model ever produced. Our mission is to provide piano owners, technicians, dealers, and enthusiasts with fast, reliable, and accurate information about their instruments.

Since 1992, we have invested significant effort in collecting and verifying piano-related data by collaborating with international museums, manufacturers, rebuilders, technicians, collectors, and piano owners around the world.

Our work goes far beyond simply gathering and compiling information. We continuously review, verify, and update our database to ensure the highest possible level of accuracy. For example, many piano action manufacturers stamped production dates on their actions. Whenever we receive information about a piano, we compare the action manufacturing date with the piano’s serial number and estimated production year. If discrepancies are identified, we investigate and correct the data accordingly, as it is impossible for an action to have been manufactured after the piano itself.

Such inconsistencies are surprisingly common in historical publications and existing databases. Fortunately, our software-based platforms, the Online Piano Atlas and Piano Age Calculator, are fully dynamic, allowing us to implement corrections and updates immediately whenever new verified information becomes available.
